We are a professional association of attorneys Florida which provides education, advocacy, and action on behalf of senior citizens and people with disabilities. Founded in 1993, we are dedicated to improving the quality of legal services provided to the elderly. Today, it is a pre-eminent organization for private practice elder law attorneys in Florida. We primarily focus on the advanced level of education. The academy offers many CLE in-person programs and web-based programs on a wide range of topics in the elder law concentration.
If you are a member of AFELA, you can join the AFELA listserv, which is an open forum for questions and answers from its members on a variety of topics related to elder law. We also offer the Elder Care Spotlight which is a free monthly e-newsletter dedicated to the unique and ever-changing set of circumstances and decisions facing elderly and disabled citizens in Florida. It offers tips and resources that are easy to understand, making life a little easier for them and those who care for them and work with them.
